What is SHGC?

SHGC stands for Solar Heat Gain Co-efficient.  A fraction of solar radiation admitted through a window or door (either transmitted directly and/or absorbed) is subsequently released as head inside the home.  The lower the SHGC rating of a window the less solar heat it transmits and the greater its ability to block heat gained from the sun in summer.  A window / door with a high SHGC rating is more effective at collecting solar heat gain during winter and keeping the home warm.  Our windows and doors have a SHGC rating of 0.45

We are loving the new windows! I have to say I have been so impressed with Elite from start to finish, and Rob was fantastic - can't speak highly enough of how professionally he ran the install.
